WEATHERS in Copenhagen

COPENHAGEN – Hometta studio principal Sean Lally of WEATHERS had the honor of being a speaker at the Climate & Architecture: Towards an Atmospheric Architecture symposium in Copenhagen on December 10, 2009. This symposium was hosted and organized by the Nantes School of Art & the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, School of Architecture.

In addition to Sean, Sou Fujimoto, Juergen Mayer H., Philippe Rahm, Stefano Casciani, David Gissen, Akos Moravansky and Henry Urbach spoke at the day-long symposium. Seeking ways to push the discipline of architecture forward, this symposium addressed provocative questions such as 'Can we think of architecture as no longer only a combination of rooms and programmes but as an open and interpretable atmosphere?' and 'Hot and cold, light and dark, dry and damp, could they become the architect’s new materials, instead of concrete, brick and steel?'
