AUSTIN – This week we take you to Dogtrot Casita, the smallest house in the Hometta house plan collection. Watch KRDB Principal Chris Krager talk about his studio's modification of an indigenous Texas house typology – the dogtrot house.

By shifting the components of a typical dogtrot house (two cabins separated by a linear breezeway below a single roof), KRDB creates a "Z" configuration by offsetting the living module and bedroom module which then open generously to the outdoors.
