What We Learned from Our Home Work

Hometta is just back from this weekend's Home Work conference at Boston's Northeastern University, full of inspiration and big plans for the future. What we learned, mostly, is that there's hope for the housing industry in this country. That there's a day coming when there will be choices for homebuyers beyond mass-produced builder housing or custom, one-of-a-kind houses. That a thousand flowers are starting to bloom, including numerous permutations of modular, prefab, and home plan delivery systems.

Founder Mark Johnson discusses Hometta's place in the housing market: the "sweet spot" between custom architecture and mass-produced builder housing.Obviously, we believe Hometta's the best option out there. Through our growing collection of modern home plans, we offer a variety of style, cost, program, and above all, a quality of design that nobody else can match. But the fact that so many are trying their hands at solving this problem tells us there's an unmet need out there for smart, affordable modern housing. And we can't wait to get on with meeting this need.

As Hometta moves toward the second year of its life, we 're working overtime to bring people even more sustainable, affordable, beautiful housing options. To create, with H-Town, an interactive, evolving design community unlike anyplace else. To enhance our tools so they will be even more instrumental in helping you find a builder and build your modern house.

Mark talks with Joe Tanney of modular housing company Resolution: 4 ArchitectureWe had a great time in Boston getting to know some innovators in the housing delivery field. Now we want to know you better, too. Have any comments or questions for Hometta? Leave them here, email us, or find us on Facebook or Twitter.
